Tim Kaine to appear in Bethesda
Democratic vice presidential candidate Tim Kaine is scheduled to appear at a fundraiser in Bethesda on Oct. 17. The location and time of the event have not yet been released, but it’s advertised on Hillary Clinton’s campaign website. Metro ranks in the middle of large transit systems in safety and reliability
The transit system had one of the lowest rates for passenger injuries from 2008 through 2015, while it had the third-lowest rate, out of nine rail systems, for mechanical failures from 2011 through 2014, according to federal data. [Washington Post]
Real Housewives of Potomac cast member indicted
While Brynee Baylor may not be one of the women who star on the Bravo reality TV show, she does make frequent appearances as a friend of cast member Charrisse. On Thursday, Baylor was indicted by a federal grand jury for tax and securities fraud for her role in a scheme that allegedly pilfered investors’ money from 2010 to 2012. [Washington City Paper]
Resurfacing work scheduled for Capital Beltway
The Maryland State Highway Administration is planning single- and double-lane closures on the Capital Beltway from the western I-270 spur to MD 185 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. weeknights this week as part of an ongoing resurfacing project. [SHA]
Silver Spring woman with dementia missing
Police said Sunday Harriet Bell, 68, was last seen around 6 p.m. Saturday after leaving the cafeteria in her Springvale Road residence. Bell suffers from dementia and anyone who may have seen the woman is asked to contact police. [Montgomery County police]
