A fire broke out in the roof area of a two-story Twinbrook home Monday evening, causing more than $6,000 in damage and displacing four adults and two children, according to Montgomery County fire department spokesman Pete Piringer.
Firefighters believe the small fire, which began around 6:45 p.m. in the 5800 block of Vandegrift Ave., was caused by an electrical issue. Piringer said on his Twitter account the family was alerted by fire alarms and was able to escape without injury.
