Maryland students continue to fail PARCC tests

Fewer than half of the public school students who took the statewide tests in the spring were able to pass, although their performance was slightly improved from last year when the PARCC tests were first administered. County police release names of two young victims of Silver Spring fire

Investigators said Deibi “David" Samir Lainez Morales, 8, and Fernando Josue Hernandez Orellana, 3, were killed in the fire and explosion at the apartment complex on Arliss Avenue. To date, police have identified five of the seven victims and are working to identify the remaining two who were killed in the explosion and fire. [Montgomery County police]

Latest on development of former Silver Spring police station
