Longtime Woodmont Triangle Japanese restaurant Matuba has closed.
The restaurant posted a note on its door over the weekend that said the restaurant permanently closed Saturday, with Friday being its last day.
“Thank you for being our valued customers over the last 37 years. Arigato!!!,” the note said. It’s signed by restaurant owner Kunio Yasutake, who goes by the name Yasu. Arigato means thank you in Japanese.
The restaurant had been in business for 37 years on Cordell Avenue before the closure and was known for its sushi and noodles.
