Grosvenor-Strathmore minor master plan update kicks off Thursday night
The county will begin the process of updating development guidelines for a 160-acre area surrounding The Music Center at Strathmore in North Bethesda at a Thursday meeting that starts at 7 p.m. in the concert hall’s Comcast Lounge. The planning department is inviting the public to the event where it will solicit ideas for the area, including how to improve pedestrian access to Strathmore and grow transit-oriented development around the Grosvenor Metro station. The area’s development guidelines haven’t been updated since 1992, so the planning process could bring zoning changes to properties such as the Grosvenor station, the music center, nearby apartments and WMATA’s surface parking lot, which is the only property within the master plan area currently proposed for future development.

Montgomery County did not collect trash and recycling Monday due to the July 4 holiday. As a result, the pickup schedule has been shifted one day later this week—for example, Monday’s trash and recycling collections will occur Tuesday. The one-day shift will occur through Saturday.
