Montgomery County police are looking for two men suspected of stealing 25 Apple iPads from a Chevy Chase private school not long after taking a high-end car from a Bethesda driveway.
Police on Thursday released video surveillance of the suspects from the burglary at Lycee Rochambeau-French International School at 3200 Woodbine St. in Chevy Chase. Police said the video shows two men at the school about 8 p.m. June 23.
Police said the two broke a first-floor classroom window and stole the iPads, which have a total value of $7,500. The surveillance camera footage shows the suspects’ two vehicles, one of which is a silver BMW 328i police said was stolen from a Bethesda driveway between 6:30 and 7:30 p.m. June 23.
Police said the stolen BMW, which was left unlocked and with a key inside in the 9800 block of Raleigh Tavern Court, was located the next day in Washington, D.C.
County detectives searched the inside of the car and found discarded clothing similar to the clothing worn by one of the suspects shown in the school surveillance camera footage, according to a police department press release.
Detectives ask anyone who recognizes the suspects from the surveillance video to call the department’s 2nd District Investigative Section at 240-773-6700. Callers can remain anonymous. Crime Solvers of Montgomery County is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information that leads to the arrest of the suspects.
