Worker injured in fall at Kensington home
A construction worker suffered serious, but nonlife-threatening injuries after falling about 30 feet down an elevator shaft while working at a home on Dresden Street in Kensington.

Metro to cut 500 jobs
The regional transit operator announced the cuts of employees deemed non-essential for Metro’s core business in a staff memo sent Monday. The job cuts are scheduled to take place over the next few months. [WJLA]
Montgomery County delegate plans to cross-file anti-fracking bill
State Sen. Bobby Zirkin of Baltimore County plans to push legislation in the 2017 General Assembly to block fracking in the state and state Del. Shane Robinson, a Montgomery County Democrat, says he’ll cross-file the bill in the house as part of an attempt to ban fracking before the state’s moratorium on the environmentally questionable drilling method expires in October 2017.
