Rockville will soon have a new beer hot spot.
The World of Beer on the ground floor of The Upton apartment building at 44 Maryland Ave. has set a May 30 opening date, according to its Facebook page.
The national chain is known for its beer options, which include more than 50 beers on tap and another 500 varieties in bottles and cans. It offers an American tavern menu with items such as sandwiches, burgers and wings.
Franchise owner Matthew Earl is opening the Rockville location and also plans to open a second World of Beer in Bethesda on the ground floor of The JBG Cos.’s 7200 Wisconsin Ave. building, although he said in March he didn’t know when that location would open.
