Major Hair Removal Chain Moving Into Former BlackFinn Bethesda Space

European Wax Center will occupy one of two storefronts after building's renovation

One of the largest chains of hair removal salons in the U.S. will take over one of two storefronts created during the renovation of the former BlackFinn restaurant in Bethesda.

European Wax Center will move into the still under-construction storefront at 7804 Norfolk Ave. in the Woodmont Triangle neighborhood.

The company’s website says the location will be opening soon. Over the past few weeks, construction crews have been preparing the Norfolk Avenue façade of the building for installation of glass and new doors.

After BlackFinn closed in 2014, building owner Greenhill Capital gutted the former bar and restaurant, removing the kitchen and renovating the property into two storefronts.

In October, Bold Bite owner Alonso Roche announced he will take over a 1,500-square-foot storefront for a new tapas concept called De Tapas. The restaurant will connect to Roche’s existing Bold Bite eatery in the same building but that fronts Fairmont Avenue.

European Wax Center will take the other storefront, a 2,037-square-foot space, according to a listing on Greenhill Capital’s website.

The Florida-based chain of more than 760 locations is run mostly through franchising.
