New Panera Bread coming to Rockville Town Center
The Upton apartment building in Rockville is getting a new ground-floor restaurant. Electrical and building permits posted on a location at 219 East Middle Lane say the space is being renovated for a new Panera Bread. Workers at the building Wednesday did not know when the restaurant planned to open. A Craigslist ad posted Wednesday indicates the company is hiring for the location.
Work is also ongoing at the World of Beer around the corner. The American tavern with a voluminous beer list is scheduled to open in mid- to late May at the building, according to franchise owner Matthew Earl.
Domino’s Pizza opens in Woodmont Triangle
The national pizza chain Domino’s Pizza now has opened its location at 4817 St. Elmo Ave. Tuesday, according to local blogger Robert Dyer. The site was formerly home to a Quiznos sandwich shop.
Denizens beer cans hit the shelves of local retailers
Silver Spring’s Denizens Brewing Co. moves forward with its latest business venture this week—selling cans of its beer. The nearly 2-year-old brewery is now selling cans of its Southside Rye IPA and Born Bohemian Pilsner at its East West Highway location and next week the beer cans will be on sale at Fenwick Beer & Wine in Silver Spring, Glen’s Garden Market in Northwest D.C., and Gilly’s Craft Beer and Fine Wine in Rockville. The brewery started canning its beer this spring after initially selling it in its brewpub and to other restaurants in kegs.

Pike Central Farm Market re-opens this Saturday
The North Bethesda farmers market opens for the season Saturday morning. It moves to a new location this year at 6001 Executive Blvd. ,near the Pallas apartment building at Pike & Rose. Meat, fish, produce, cheese, poultry and baked goods purveyors will be selling their products at the market that will run from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturdays until mid-November. New vendors this year include The Inside Scoop, Just Gnocchi and Stroker’s Barbecue. The market will also offer live music, chef demos, and kids’ activities throughout the year.
