Both Whitman High School basketball teams earn region titles

Now both teams move on to the state semifinals. The girls team plays 4A East winner North Point at 5 p.m. Thursday in Towson University’s SECU Arena. The boys team plays 4A East winner Meade at 9 p.m. Thursday in the University of Maryland’s Xfinity Center. [MPSSAA]

County moves forward on BELL summer education program
The county school system and nonprofit BELL will set up the program at eight Title I schools this summer for 1,050 rising third and fourth graders who are performing below benchmarks.
