Take a Look Inside Bethesda’s Kapnos Kouzina

The Greek concept from celebrity chef Mike Isabella is set to open Monday for lunch and March 11 for dinner

March 4, 2016 11:16 a.m.

The crew behind celebrity chef Mike Isabella’s Kapnos Kouzina is putting the final touches on the Bethesda Row restaurant before it opens for lunch service Monday, dinner service March 11 and brunch March 12.

The Greek concept (menus here) is taking over the space formerly housing Vapiano at 4900 Hampden Lane.

Much of Vapiano’s original layout remains, though with a completely new look. Shelving throughout the space displays products such as Santorini tomatoes, fig jams and olive oils that will be for sale. Small plants line many of the tables and shelves.

The bar space has been opened up and guests will be able to sit at a counter and look into part of the kitchen. The restaurant will seat 160.

Isabella’s group also moved the restaurant’s main entrance from Hampden Lane to Woodmont Avenue.
