It’s no secret that real estate prices are expensive in the Bethesda area, but in some local neighborhoods the selling price for a single-family home can average $2 million or more.
In this year’s list of the neighborhoods where homes sold for the most money in 2015, home sales in two neighborhoods cracked the $2 million mark, including the Bethesda neighborhood that topped the list in 2014, but fell to second this year.
Overall, the 2015 list includes six Bethesda neighborhoods, three in Potomac and two in Chevy Chase. Each neighborhood had an average house sales price higher than $1.6 million.
The top 11 ranking was drawn from a chart listing the average sales price and other data for more than 400 Bethesda-area neighborhoods that was published in the March/April issue of Bethesda Magazine.
The top 11 ranking was based on neighborhoods with three or more sales in 2015. MRIS provided the data. Some sales prices were rounded off.
