Police Blotter: Bank Robbery in Bethesda; Driver Assaulted in Rockville

Bethesda

Bank robbery on Old Georgetown Road

A man entered the PNC Bank at 10211 Old Georgetown Road, approached the teller, displayed a weapon and demanded cash around 9:15 a.m. Feb. 13, according to county police.

Driver assaulted

A man told Rockville police he picked up four individuals in the 200 block of Rockville Pike around 11:45 p.m. Feb. 12. When the four individuals entered the car, the driver told them he would like to be paid up front. The individuals began to assault the driver, who drove back to where he had picked them up and exited the vehicle. Outside the vehicle, the individuals continued to assault the man and then fled the scene. The individuals were described as two men and two females, but detailed suspect descriptions were not provided.

Residential burglary on Seth Place

Someone took cash, a cellphone, hair products, a sports bag and a watch from a residence in the 300 block of Seth Place between 3 and 4 a.m. Feb. 12, according to Rockville police.

Commercial burglary on Congressional Lane

Someone shattered the glass front door of a business in the 100 block of Congressional Lane sometime overnight Feb. 14 and took cash and three cell phones, according to Rockville police.

Arrest in theft scheme

Rockville police arrested a 20-year-old woman Feb. 16 who was later charged with a theft scheme and six counts of theft after several incidents occurring between Dec. 28 and Feb. 10 in the 1500 block of Rockville Pike.

Multiple thefts from vehicles

Property was taken from vehicles on Leland and West Irving streets and Beechwood Drive sometime between Feb. 8 and 14. There were no signs of forced entry, according to county police.

Kensington

Residential burglary on Dresden Street

Someone broke into a home in the 3900 block of Dresden Street and took cash sometime between the evening of Feb. 9 and the morning of Feb. 10, according to county police.

Potomac

Residential burglary on Deborah Drive

Property was taken from a residence in the 10800 block of Deborah Drive sometime between 3:15 and 7 a.m. Feb. 13. County police did not report signs of forced entry.

Downtown Silver Spring

Burglary at La Fonda Paisa bakery

Cash was taken after someone broke into La Fonda Paisa bakery at 7914 George Ave. around 3:15 a.m. Feb. 11, according to county police.
