Montgomery County police are trying to identify two suspects involved in an attempted bank robbery last month in Silver Spring.

Police said Wednesday that the suspects entered the Capital One bank branch at 8676 Georgia Ave. at about 2:30 p.m. Jan. 27. One of the suspects approached a teller and passed a note demanding money while the second suspect also approached the teller window and served as a lookout, police said.

Both suspects fled the bank before obtaining any money.

Detectives believe the two tried to rob a BB&T Bank branch at 3101 14th Street in Washington, D.C., about an hour before the Silver Spring incident.
