Updated Tuesday – The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Warning until Tuesday at 2 p.m. for southeast Montgomery County.
With temperatures as high as 55 degrees melting Monday’s snow and 0.75 to 1.25 inches of rain expected to fall Tuesday, the weather service says small streams may overflow and areas prone to poor drainage could see flooding.
Heavy rain is expected to hit the area around noon.
The weather service says excessive runoff will cause ponding of water on roads, highways and other low-lying spots.
“Do not attempt to travel across flooded roads,” the weather service advised in its Flood Warning. “It takes only a few inches of swiftly flowing water to carry vehicles away.”
Meanwhile, heavy rain and flooding risks continue as well. Rain should end during the midday hours. pic.twitter.com/oBOrwg6A3b
