The developer that has taken over a planned Bethesda high-rise project will talk about its new proposal for the site at a required public meeting on Feb. 24.
Toll Brothers City Living, the Pennsylvania-based developer that bought the 8008 Wisconsin Ave. project from Washington, D.C.-based Douglas Development, will host the meeting on its Site Plan application to the county Planning Department at 6:30 p.m. at the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Regional Services Center.
While announcing the purchase last week, Toll Brothers also said it would change the previous developer’s plan to construct 140 rental apartment units in a 14-story building to a new proposal for about 100 luxury condominium units in a 14-story building.
A sign at the property announcing the meeting says the new proposal will include up to 115 units.
The 8008 Wisconsin Ave. site includes the former spot of the Ranger Surplus store near the corner of Wisconsin and Cordell avenues. The property also includes a beer and wine store situated in a house on the corner of Cordell and Woodmont avenues.
