Union Jack’s is closing in Bethesda.
The British-themed bar and restaurant announced the news Monday night on its Facebook page.
“It is with heavy hearts that after over a decade of good times and unforgettable memories made at Union Jack’s of Bethesda, we have made the difficult decision to close our doors for the last time this upcoming weekend,” the restaurant wrote. “We’d like to thank each of our guests for making our time in Bethesda so special, and invite everyone out this week to celebrate with us!”
A manager at the location did not respond to a request for information about the restaurant’s future sent in an email by Bethesda Beat earlier Monday.
The bar has long served guests at 4915 St. Elmo St. in Woodmont Triangle and is known for having a lively nightlife scene. The restaurant chainlet also has locations in Gaithersburg, Columbia and Annapolis, which will remain open, according to the Facebook post.
