The National Weather Service on Wednesday morning issued a Flood Watch for Montgomery County and much of the Washington, D.C., region with heavy downpours expected between 1 and 6 p.m.

The rain combined with melting snow could mean Potomac River flooding over the next three days at Little Falls, which would impact Montgomery, Fairfax and Loudoun counties.

The Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service is also warning of flash flooding on low-lying area roads near creeks and streams.
