Rockville
Marijuana deal turns into armed robbery
Individuals told police they had arranged to meet someone to purchase marijuana around 1 p.m. in the 300 block of Mannakee Street. When the person arrived for the meeting, a second person was with him, who pointed a handgun at the individuals. Both men then robbed the individuals of cash. One of the men also took the individuals’ backpacks, cellphones and a jacket. Police did not provide detailed descriptions of the suspects. (Rockville police)
Violent assault on Lewis Avenue
A man reported he was walking home when three people—two men and a woman—approached him, circled him and then began to assault him. The man told police he was knocked to the ground and that one of the suspects held a knife while the two others took his backpack, wallet, cellphone, laptop and a scarf. The incident happened near the intersection of Lewis Avenue and Brooke Drive between 11:27 p.m. and 11:47 p.m. Jan. 28. Police did not provide detailed suspect descriptions. (Rockville police)
