Man arrested for concealed nunchucks
Police arrested a 22-year-old man around 9:30 p.m. Jan. 17 for possession of a concealed dangerous weapon—nunchucks—after an incident in the 400 block of College Parkway.
Man assaulted and robbed on Shady Grove Road
A man told police he was smoking marijuana and drinking in his hotel room with four people whom he had just met Jan. 17 when all four individuals began assaulting him. The man reported the four people took his cellphone and money and then left the hotel. Police did not provide detailed suspect descriptions. [Rockville Police]
Burglary at Rockville Pike business
A man entered a business in the 1600 block of Rockville Pike with two empty shopping bags around 6:45 p.m. Jan. 13. He walked to women’s section, filled the shopping bags with clothes and then left the store through a rear emergency exit. Police described the man as black, 5 feet 7 inches tall and 150 pounds, with a medium build who was last seen wearing a “mad bomber”-style winter hat with fur on the ear flaps, blue jeans and a dark blue coat with fur around the collar and red inner trim. Home theater system stolen
A man in his mid-30s to 40s entered a business in the 1500 block of Rockville Pike, grabbed a box containing a home theater system and then left the store without paying for it around 5 p.m. Jan. 14. Police described the man as black, about 5 feet 9 inches tall, with very short hair, a mustache and beard, and who was wearing a gray sweatshirt and carrying a silver, black and red backpack. Someone broke into Sandwiches and Such at 15215 Shady Grove Road and took cash and merchandise between Jan. 16 and 17.

A 53-year-old woman was arrested after she allegedly attempted to burglarize the Silver Spring fire station at 8110 Georgia Ave. around 11:10 a.m. Jan. 14.

Two men displayed a weapon and robbed someone of money around 8:35 p.m. Jan. 18 in the 500 block of Thayer Avenue.
