Assault arrest made at Bethesda bar

A 23-year-old Washington, D.C., man was arrested around 11:20 p.m. Jan. 8 in an assault at Tommy Joe’s Restaurant, 4714 Montgomery Lane.

Residential burglary on Salem Way

Someone broke into and took property from a residence in the 8500 block of Salem Way between 9:40 a.m. and 6:40 p.m. Jan. 7.

Arrest made in burglary at Euro Motorcars

A 22-year-old Silver Spring man and a 23-year-old Silver Spring woman were arrested after allegedly taking property from Euro Motorcars at 7020 Arlington Road around 3 a.m. Jan. 8.

Vehicles that showed signs of forced entry had property taken from them while parked on Old Georgetown and Friars roads, Elsmere Avenue, and Barrett, Wilson and Maiden lanes between Jan. 5 and 12.

Residential burglary on Blackthorn Street

Property was taken after someone broke into a residence in the 3800 block of Blackthorn Street sometime between 8 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Jan. 12.

Residential burglary on East West Highway

Someone broke into a home in the 3900 block of East West Highway and took property sometime between 7 a.m. and 5:15 p.m. Jan. 11.

Thefts from vehicles

Property was taken from vehicles that did not show signs of forced entry between Jan. 6 and 10. The cars were located on Parkwood Drive, Westbrook and Cedar lanes, Culver Street, Summit Avenue, Chanute Drive, Dresden Street, Clearbrook Place and Byeforde Road.

North Bethesda

Residential burglary arrest on Rockville Pike

 A 55-year-old Rockville man was arrested after reportedly forcing his way into a home in the 10000 block of Rockville Pike around 2 p.m. Jan. 6. Nothing was reported stolen.

Survival kit stolen

A person reported a survival kit was stolen from the person’s vehicle on Marcus Court sometime overnight between Jan. 3 and  4. [Rockville police]

Inappropriate touching on Hungerford Drive

A woman said someone touched her inappropriately as she was loading items into her vehicle at a business in the 600 block of Hungerford Drive around 10 a.m. Jan. 4. [Rockville police]

Commercial burglary on Rockville Pike

Three women reportedly entered a business in the 1600 block of Rockville Pike, filled shopping bags and then left the business without paying, causing a merchandise security alarm to activate. The three women then fled in a silver vehicle. Police described the women as follows:

Suspect one: Black female with a medium build and medium brown skin tone who was last seen wearing black fuzzy boots, gray leggings, a green winter jacket and a gray winter hat.

Suspect two: Black female, heavy build, with medium brown skin tone who was last seen wearing black leggings and a gray sweatshirt with a wide stripe and who was carrying a small child.

Suspect three: Black female, heavy build with dark brown skin tone who was last seen wearing brown boots, a black puffy jacket and a black winter hat. [Rockville Police]

Commercial burglary on Rockville Pike

A man entered a business in the 1700 block of Rockville Pike, put on a winter jacket and then left the store wearing the jacket around 3:30 p.m. Jan. 6. Police described the man as black, about 5 feet 8 inches tall and 150 pounds with a bald head, beard and light brown skin tone who was last seen wearing a gray winter coat, black pants and a green winter hat. The gray jacket was the item reported stolen. [Rockville police]

Laptop bag stolen

An unsecured messenger bag was taken from a reception area at a business in the 100 block of North Washington Street sometime between 1:20 and 1:25 p.m. Jan. 6. The bag contained a laptop, passport, thumb drive and wallet. A credit card that was in the bag was later used at a nearby business, and police were able to provide a suspect description based on surveillance video. The suspect is described as a white female, in her 20s, possibly of Middle Eastern descent who was last seen wearing a gray scarf, olive coat, leggings and brown boots. [Rockville police]

Thefts from vehicles

Property was taken from vehicles parked in the area of Piccard Drive and Redland Boulevard sometime between Jan. 7 and 10. The vehicles did not show signs of forced entry.

Downtown Silver Spring

Attempted robbery on East West Highway

An approximately 20-year-old man attempted to take property from a woman near the intersection of East West Highway and 16th Street around 6:50 p.m. Jan. 7.

Residential burglary on Eastern Avenue

Someone broke into a residence in the 7700 block of Eastern Avenue sometime during the afternoon of Jan. 8 and took property.

Burglary at Citgo station

Property was taken from the Citgo gas station at 8333 Fenton St. during the early morning hours of Jan. 12. Police found signs of forced entry.
