Montgomery County says it treated roads
The county’s highway services said last night it pretreated “all primary/secondary/emergency roads maintained by the county” before Wednesday night’s squall hit. [Twitter]
Gov. Larry Hogan proposes $42.3 billion state budget
Hogan proposed a budget that makes use of a $450 million budget surplus by increasing salaries of state employees by up to 4 percent and funding local education mandates, and includes $36 million in fee and tax reductions. [The Baltimore Sun]
Legislature focuses on veto overrides
The House of Delegates voted Wednesday to override Hogan’s veto of a bill that would give felons the right to vote when they’re released from prison. Legislators also voted to override a veto of a hotel tax bill that would force online travel websites to pay the market-rate sales tax on bookings. Homeless shelter requests supplies
As Friday's expected blizzard approaches, the Montgomery County Coalition for the Homeless is seeking supplies such as food, winter clothing and paper products to provide to the more than 200 homeless individuals it expects to support during the storm. [MCCH]
