Katie Ledecky, Bethesda
Swimmer and Bethesda resident Katie Ledecky won her first Olympic gold medal in the 2012 Summer Olympics at the age of 15 and hasn’t stopped winning or setting new world records since.
The nine-time world champion was born in Washington, D.C., and currently lives with her parents in Bethesda. She graduated from Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart in 2015 and plans to attend Stanford University after the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, where she’s expected to win several medals.
