The average price of a detached home in Bethesda increased in 2015 compared to the 2014 figure and so did the number of detached homes that were sold, according to Bethesda-based real estate brokerage Maury Real Estate.
The brokerage broke down the 2015 numbers for Bethesda ZIP codes 20814, 20816 and 20817, finding the average price of a detached home in 2015 was $1,117,073, a 2 percent increase from the average price of 2014.
There were 813 detached homes sold in 2015 in those ZIP codes, a 12 percent increase compared to the number sold in 2014. The most detached homes sold in those three ZIP codes in one year was 1,030 in 2003, four years before the financial crisis put a major dent in the housing market.

Top local Realtor jumps to Long & Foster
Zelda Heller, a leader in sales at luxury real estate outfit TTR Sotheby’s International Realty, recently jumped to the Bethesda office of Long & Foster Real Estate.
Heller has worked in local real estate since 1989, specializing in luxury condos and recording $80 million in sales last year. In 2014, she represented the sellers of a Parc Somerset condo in Chevy Chase that sold for a Washington, D.C., area record $8.65 million.
