Montgomery County police on Wednesday released surveillance camera photos of two suspects they say used credit cards belonging to the victim of a November armed robbery at Westfield Montgomery mall in Bethesda.
Detectives in the department’s Bethesda-based 2nd District Investigative Section say three men, one armed with a weapon, robbed a woman at about 6 p.m. Nov. 27 in the mall’s parking garage near Macy’s.
Police did not identify the weapon they said was used during the robbery. The three men fled the area in a gray Dodge Avenger that had damage to the front tire rim on its passenger side, according to police.
Police said the three armed robbery suspects were black and about 20 to 25 years old.
Police said one of the armed robbery suspects and a woman used the stolen credit cards at two stores in Washington, D.C., about one hour after the robbery. Police did not identify the stores, but released surveillance camera photos of the suspects in one of the stores.
Detectives also released a surveillance camera photo of the Dodge Avenger, hoping it will lead them to an identification of the suspects.
Anyone with information about the suspects or the armed robbery can call the 2nd District Investigative Section at 240-773-6710. Those who want to remain anonymous can call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County at 1-866-411-8477.
Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information that leads to an arrest or indictment.
