Montgomery County police said Wednesday investigators are still searching for Tejin Thomas, the Bethesda teen who went missing Sunday night, but they now know he was dropped off by an Uber driver in the area of Sangamore Road in western Bethesda around 10:30 p.m. Sunday.

Police spokeswoman Rebecca Innocenti said detectives tracked down the Uber driver, who told police where the 17-year-old was dropped off. Detectives also spoke with Thomas’ family Tuesday, but the family hadn’t heard from the teen, according to Innocenti. She said the investigation is ongoing.

Police issued a press release Monday after Thomas left his home in the 5200 block of Belvoir Drive around 9:30 p.m. in an Uber car. At the time, police and the boy’s family were concerned for his safety because he left messages containing statements about suicidal intentions. He was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt and blue pants and was carrying a duffel bag when he left his home, police said.

Anyone with information about Thomas’ whereabouts is asked to call police at 240-773-5400.
