Updated Wednesday: Pedestrian struck by Ride On bus dies of her injuries

 A pedestrian was struck by a bus just before 8 a.m. Tuesday in Bethesda, closing all lanes of Old Georgetown Road at its intersection with Battery Lane.

Pete Piringer, spokesperson for the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service, said the woman hit by the bus suffered life-threatening injuries.

Police reopened both sides of Old Georgetown Road around noon. The road was closed for about four hours to allow officers to investigate the incident.
