A collision occurring around 10 a.m. Tuesday closed several lanes on southbound I-270, creating a traffic jam on what had been an easy holiday week morning commute.
Vehicles were backed up to Montrose Road around 10:40 a.m. on both the travel and local lanes of I-270, according to county traffic cameras. The video showed cars were moving by in the right two or three lanes as county firefighters worked at the scene.
By 10:40 a.m. it appeared that all lanes had been reopened on the highway.
There was no immediate word from fire department officials about whether anyone was injured in the collision and no information about the vehicles involved was available.
