Update – Dec. 29 – Montgomery County detectives have identified the body as that of a Denis Vitalion Montufar-Bautista, 18, of Adelphi. His death has been ruled a homicide.
Police arrested two Prince George's County teens in the case–Noe Antonio Coreas-Mejia, 19, of Hyattsville, and Julio C. Rivas-Rosales, 15, of Adelphi. Rivas-Rosales has been charged as an adult in the case. Police believe Motufar-Bautista was killed on Dec. 22, the day he went missing and the day his body was found.
The crime may be gang-related, according to court filings cited by The Washington Post.

Montgomery County Police say detectives are investigating the death of an unidentified person found late Tuesday night near the Northwest Branch Trail in Silver Spring.
A police department press release says detectives found the body around 11:10 p.m. Tuesday in an area of the trail near the inner loop of the Capital Beltway. The body was in the creek along the trail, police said.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore will conduct an autopsy.
Police released no further details, but asked anyone who may have information regarding the death to call 240-773-5070.
