Funeral services for Montgomery County police Officer Noah Leotta, who died Thursday after having been struck a week earlier by a vehicle driven by a suspected drunken driver, are scheduled for Monday and Tuesday.
A wake will take place at Covenant Life Church, 7501 Muncaster Mill Road, Gaithersburg, on Monday. Visitation hours are from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
A funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday at Covenant Life Church. Leotta’s family will arrive at 10:30 a.m. and attendees are asked to arrive before that time. After the funeral, there will be a procession to the burial site, Judean Memorial Gardens, 16225 Batchellors Forest Road, Olney.
Leotta, 24, died last week from injuries he suffered when he was struck by a suspected drunken driver on Rockville Pike. Leotta was working as a member of the department’s Holiday Alcohol Task Force when he was struck Dec. 3 while making a traffic stop. After his death, Police Chief Thomas Manger called Leotta’s death preventable and said Maryland law is too weak to provide justice in the case.
