Police say driver who struck officer admitted to drinking too much

According to the police incident report, the driver who fatally struck a county officer on Rockville Pike was drinking for four hours at a nearby Hooters, couldn’t stand straight and admitted to drinking too much. [Washington Post]

Dad who was home during underage drinking party pleads guilty

Kenneth Saltzman, who was home during an underage drinking party in June that preceded a crash that killed two teenagers, pleaded guilty to two counts of allowing underage drinking in a residence. The penalty is $5,000 in fines. [WUSA9]
