Teaching Strategies moves to Carr Building
Teaching Strategies, an education company that creates early childhood curriculums and professional development techniques for teachers, will move its Bethesda offices from Wisconsin Avenue to the new Carr Properties office building at 4500 East West Highway next month.
The company is planning an expansion and will increase its workforce from 100 to 150 employees as part of the move, according to a press release. The company received a $300,000 conditional loan from the Maryland Economic Development Assistance Authority and Fund as well as a $150,000 Economic Development Fund conditional grant from Montgomery County to help pay for its relocation.
The County Council approved the grant during the summer. The approved resolution noted that the company was considering relocating its headquarters to Arlington County, but instead chose a 28,000-square-foot office space at the East West Highway building.
Amazon reportedly takes over warehouse in Rockville
Maryland Newsletters, a subscription-only real estate newsletter, reported this week that the online retail giant Amazon leased 65,000 square feet at a warehouse on East Gude Drive. The building, at 861 E. Gude Drive, was formerly occupied by Coca Cola and will be used by the retailer as a shipping facility to process same-day deliveries, according to the newsletter.

Fitness Generation partners with Silver for healthy eating seminar
A Bethesda-based personal training business is partnering with the new restaurant Silver in downtown Bethesda to offer a healthy eating seminar Wednesday. The event hosted by Fitness Generation will feature Silver chef Ype Von Hengst sharing tips on how to make healthy holiday dishes and will also include a tasting of the restaurant’s healthier menu options. The tasting seminar starts at 2:30 p.m.
