Internet Cat Video Festival –10:30 a.m.  Sunday – AFI Silver Theatre, Silver Spring

You’ve probably seen short cat video clips  while browsing the Internet. Now you have a chance to see a curated movie of some of the best clips. The AFI Silver Theatre is participating Sunday in The Internet Cat Video Festival and will screen a 75-minute 2015 highlight reel at the theater. Doors open at 10:30 a.m. and the screening starts at 11 a.m. Tickets are $5. The show is put on by Alley Cat Allies, a cat advocacy group.

Capitol Area Storytelling Festival – Friday and Saturday – Washington ArtWorks, 12276 Wilkins Ave., Rockville

This inaugural event in Rockville will bring together some of the best storytellers in the country for live performances. Friday night’s festivities, which take place from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., include performances by four storytellers—Donald Davis, Geraldine Buckley, Sheila Arnold Jones and Mike Lockett. Saturday’s programs, which run from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m., include storytelling competitions and stories suitable for children. Tickets range from $25 to $65 depending on which event you attend or if you get a full weekend pass.

Used book sale – noon to 3 p.m. Saturday – Rockville Memorial Library, 21 Maryland Ave.

The Rockville Friends of the Library is hosting a used book sale Saturday afternoon at the Rockville library. Books for sale will include fiction, nonfiction, biographies, memoirs and foreign language books. Most are priced $1 or less. The proceeds will benefit the library.

Foodie Festivus: Tree Lighting and Street Festival – Saturday evening – Fountain Plaza, Downtown Silver Spring

Foodie Festivus, a month-and-a-half-long lineup of special events, kicks off Saturday in Downtown Silver Spring with the lighting of a 35-foot holiday tree made out of recycled glassware and welded food service items. The tree was created by Karl Unnasch, an architectural artist, and is meant to celebrate the role food plays in the holiday. The tree-lighting ceremony, along with a live musical performance, is scheduled to take place from 6 to 9 p.m.

Baltimore Symphony Orchestra: Boléro – 8 p.m. Saturday night –The Music Center at Strathmore

The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra will have a Spanish flare Saturday night as it performs works by Ravel, Falla and Debussy. The show ends with Ravel’s Boléro, which features a rousing crescendo. The concert starts at 8 p.m. and tickets are $45 to $109.

Ten Feet Tall – 9 p.m. Saturday night – Villain & Saint, 7141 Wisconsin Ave., Bethesda

The Washington, D.C., soul, funk and classic rock band, Ten Feet Tall, will play the Bethesda venue Saturday night. The band plays a mix of covers as well as its own songs. Tickets are $10 and the show starts at 9 p.m.
