Veterans Day Closings, Schedule Changes

Most county facilities will be closed Wednesday for Veterans Day

Most Montgomery County facilities will be closed and parking at county meters will be free Wednesday as the county observes Veterans Day.

There will be Veterans Day ceremonies in Bethesda and Rockville Wednesday morning.

County offices: Closed

Libraries: Closed

County liquor stores: All retail stores are open normal hours.

Recreation: Aquatic and community centers open as scheduled and classes and programs will meet as scheduled; all senior programs cancelled, and administrative offices and senior centers closed.

Montgomery Parks: For holiday operating schedule on Parks’ facilities, including Brookside Gardens, ice rinks, tennis centers, trains and carousels, visit www.MontgomeryParks.org

TRiPS commuter stores (Silver Spring and Friendship Heights): Closed

Refuse/recycling pickup: There will be no trash or recycling collections Wednesday and collections will be conducted one day later than usual for the rest of the week. The last collection day will be Nov. 14.

Transfer Station: Open

MCPS administrative offices: Open

MCPS schools: Early release day for students in kindergarten through grade eight.
