Arrest made in church burglaries
Police arrested Freddie Eric Hamlett, 49, of Washington, D.C., after he allegedly burglarized the same church twice, first on Oct. 1 then on Oct. 8. Police said Hamlett took pillows and cash from All Saints Episcopal Church at 3 Chevy Chase Circle in both burglaries. A detective identified Hamlett as a suspect after recognizing his face in surveillance footage and officers later arrested him. Police are working with Washington, D.C., police to determine if Hamlett may have been involved in other church burglaries that occurred recently in the area.
Arrests made in Shepherd Street burglary
Two Washington, D.C., men, ages 25 and 26, were arrested after allegedly forcing their way into a residence in the 3600 block of Shepherd Street during the early morning of Oct. 29.

Gas station robbery
A man entered the Mobil gas station at 10625 Connecticut Ave. around 10:45 a.m. Oct. 30, displayed a weapon and took cash.
Residential burglary on Raymoor Road
Someone broke into a residence in the 3500 block of Raymoor Road and took property sometime between 11 a.m. Nov. 2 and 1 p.m. Nov. 3.

Teens steal bag on Scotland Drive
Four boys, ages 15 to 17, stole a bag from another person around 8:20 p.m. Nov. 3 in the 7800 block of Scotland Drive.
Downtown Silver Spring
Robbery outside Ethiopian restaurant
Two men approached another man and forcibly took his money outside an Ethiopian restaurant at 8305 Georgia Ave. around 1:15 a.m. Nov. 3.
Arrests made in thefts from vehicles on Ripley Street
Police arrested three teens, ages 15 to 18, in multiple thefts from vehicles in the 1100 block of Ripley Street that occurred between 7:30 and 11:50 p.m. Oct. 28. Police didn’t find signs of forced entry, but property and cash were taken from the vehicles.
