Montgomery County police said Monday that a Derwood man ran over his ex-girlfriend’s boyfriend Sunday night in Kensington, seriously injuring the man.

The incident happened around 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of Armory Avenue and Mitchell Street. Police identified the victim as Saul Collazo, 26, but did not provide his address. The suspect, who police identified as Bryan Jackson, 25, was charged with attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault and second-degree assault.

Collazo told police Jackson followed him as he drove from Germantown to Kensington.

In Kensington, Collazo exited his vehicle, which is when Jackson struck him, dragging him underneath the vehicle, according to police spokeswoman Natasha Plotnikov. Plotnikov said Jackson then fled the scene, but later turned himself into police.
