Police Blotter: Bethesda Man Arrested in Thefts; Armed Carjacking in Silver Spring

Downtown Silver Spring

Arrest made in thefts from vehicles in Rosemary Hills

A 19-year-old Bethesda man was arrested in multiple thefts from vehicles in the Rosemary Hills area of Silver Spring. The property thefts occurred during the early morning hours of Oct. 9 and involved forced entry, police reported.

Armed carjacking near Georgia Avenue

Two men both armed with weapons reportedly approached another man near the intersection of Georgia and Silver Spring avenues, demanded the man’s keys and took his vehicle. The incident happened around 1:45 p.m. Oct. 10. Police did not provide detailed suspect descriptions.

Construction site burglary

Property was taken from the Clark Construction site at 8107 Eastern Ave. around 2:30 a.m. Oct. 7.

Residential burglary on Tarrytown Road

Someone broke into a residence in the 7500 block of Tarrytown Road and took property sometime between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. Oct. 13.

Thefts from vehicles

Property was taken from vehicles on Woodlawn and Dundee roads and Glenmoor and Faircastle drives during the early morning hours of Oct. 10. Police did not find signs of forced entry.

Rockville

Car dealership burglarized

Someone broke into the Darcars 355 Toyota car dealership at 15265 Frederick Road and stole property sometime between Oct. 9 and 12.

North Bethesda

Thefts from vehicles

Vehicles located on Luxemberg and Waycroft streets and Brewer House and Schuykill roads had property and cash taken from them between Oct. 5 and 7. Police did not report signs of forced entry.

Residential burglary on Westlake Drive

Someone took property and cash from a residence in the 10200 block of Westlake Drive between 6:30 a.m. and 1:40 p.m. Oct. 12 after gaining entry to the residence by unknown means.

North Potomac

Residential burglary on Quince Valley Drive

Property was taken from a residence in the 12200 block of Quince Valley Drive around 7:25 p.m. Oct. 12. Police reported signs of forced entry.

Potomac

Thefts from vehicles

Property was taken from vehicles on Potomac Tennis and Maidstone lanes, Bonnie Dale and Nolan drives, and Esworthy Road between Oct. 5 and 12. No signs of forced entry were found.
