Weekend Events: Fall Festivals Galore

World of Montgomery Festival –noon to 5 p.m. Sunday – Montgomery College, Rockville Campus, 51 Mannakee St., Rockville

This family-friendly event highlights the cultural diversity of Montgomery County. There will be a variety of musicians, food and dance troupes that encompass the cultural communities that make up the county. The free festival focuses on four countries this year—China, El Salvador, Ethiopia and India.

Bethesda Row Arts Festival – Saturday and Sunday – Bethesda Row

Bethesda Row will once again be transformed into an outdoor art gallery this weekend. More than 190 artists and craftsmen will be displaying and selling their works at the event on Elm Street and Woodmont and Bethesda avenues Saturday (11 a.m. – 6 p.m.) and Sunday (10 a.m. – 5 p.m.) A stage at Elm Street and Woodmont Avenue will feature live music.

Kensington Fall Festival – 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday – Howard Avenue between Armory Avenue and Kensington Parkway

The Town of Kensington will host its inaugural Fall Festival on Sunday featuring an al fresco market with vendors selling handmade goods. The event takes place along Howard Avenue and will also include food trucks and musical entertainment.

Westwood Fall Festival –11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday – Westwood Shopping Center

Equity One, the developer planning a large mixed-use project to replace the Westwood Shopping Center in Westbard, is hosting a fall festival this Saturday at the shopping center on Westbard Avenue in Bethesda. The event includes face painting, balloon twisting, games and music provided by a disc jockey.

Community Book and Yard Sale – Saturday and Sunday – The Woman’s Club of Chevy Chase

Editor’s note: Last week we incorrectly included this event in the weekend events roundup. It is in fact happening this weekend.

The annual “Treasure Trove” community book sale at The Woman’s Club of Chevy Chase takes place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. On Saturday, there will be a community yard sale. Used goods and a variety of books will be available. Free parking is available in the rear of the club building on Connecticut Avenue.

Cabin John Shopping Center Fall Festival Featuring Dexter Manley – 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday – Corner of Tuckerman Lane and Seven Locks Road

Washington Redskins great Dexter Manley will sign autographs at Cabin John Shopping Center’s fall festival this Sunday afternoon. The event also includes arts and crafts, trick-or-treating at stores, bounce houses, a hay maze and scarecrow making. Manley will appear from 2 to 3 p.m.

Cheesetopia – 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday Balducci’s Bethesda, 10241 Old Georgetown Road

Balducci’s will be hosting its annual free Cheesetopia this Saturday in which shoppers can taste cheeses from around the world and participate in demos by cheesemakers.
