Consero Group leases new headquarters space in Bethesda

Consero Group, an organization that hosts invitation-only events for high-level senior executives announced this month it will move to a new 7,500-square-foot headquarters at 3 Bethesda Metro Center in Bethesda. As part of the move, the company is planning to expand its current workforce of 30 employees to 50 and increase the number of events it offers.

“Our larger U.S. headquarters will be critical as we continue our international expansion in Europe, increase the number of our one-day programs and broaden our content-development efforts,” Consero founder and CEO Paul Mandell said in a statement.

The company plans to move into the new space in April. Consero is currently at 4915 St. Elmo Ave. in Bethesda’s Woodmont Triangle.

Rockville residents behind popular fitness app

A former Air Force pilot and a software engineer, both Rockville residents, are two of the men behind Sworkit, which stands for Simply Work It, a popular fitness app that provides users with video instructions for exercises that can be done without weights or other equipment.

Pilot Greg Coleman and software engineer Benjamin Young teamed up to create a fitness apps under the company name Nexercise after meeting at business school at the University of Pennsylvania, according to a profile of Coleman on DNAinfo.com. Later on, they acquired their star app—Sworkit—which Coleman says has been downloaded 8 million times and has 1.5 million monthly users, according to the report.

In July, Sworkit received praise in a University of Florida study that found it to be the best free iPhone fitness app. And, in another local connection, Nexercise Inc., the parent company of Sworkit, is located on 16th Street in Silver Spring.
