The board is also scheduled to view preliminary plans for an addition at Kensington-Parkwood Elementary School.

County Council to take up economic development change – The Montgomery County Council is scheduled to discuss and is likely to vote on an expedited bill Tuesday that would allow the council to designate a nonprofit as the lead economic development organization. The shift comes as part of County Executive Ike Leggett’s work to reform the county’s in-house economic development department into what he says will be a nimble nonprofit economic development organization more akin to a private sector business than a government department. Once approved, the goal of the new nonprofit will be to grow the workforce in the county.
