The Southeast Asian-themed Chipotle spinoff ShopHouse will replace the FrozenYo frozen yogurt shop in Downtown Silver Spring next year, according to a sign posted on the business.

FrozenYo closed its 935 Ellsworth Dr. location sometime in the previous two months.

A sign posted on the building says ShopHouse will open in the spring. A construction permit for the 1,440-square-foot retail space was filed with Montgomery County’s permitting department Aug. 31 to renovate the space.

FrozenYo opened in Silver Spring in 2011.

ShopHouse has 11 locations currently open in California and the Washington D.C.-area, including restaurants in Bethesda and North Bethesda. The first ShopHouse opened in 2011 after being developed by Chipotle founder Steve Ells. The concept features a range of Asian ingredients that customers can combine in a rice, noodle or salad bowl.
