Montgomery County Police believe a masked burglar has broken into a Potomac gas station for the third time this month, marking his fourth burglary in September.
The latest burglary happened around 2:55 a.m. on Sept. 17, when police responded to an alarm at the Sunoco gas station at 11355 Seven Locks Road. Responding officers found the front glass window of the business broken and reported that cigarettes were stolen.
Police believe the man, who concealed his face with what appears to be a black t-shirt, is the same man who broke into the gas station around 12:30 a.m. Sept. 4 and then again on Sept. 5 around 3:25 a.m. Police said the man broke the glass of the business in both those burglaries, but only stole something during the Sept. 5 burglary—cash from the register.
Detectives also believe the man burglarized the Potomac Express Food and Deli at 12960 Travilah Road in similar fashion—by breaking a glass door and stealing cash from the register—around 3:30 a.m. on Sept. 5, just 10 minutes after the second Sunoco smash and grab.
Police are asking anyone who may have information about the burglaries to call them at 240-773-6084.
