Update 1:15 p.m. – A downtown Bethesda developer will take over a vacant Woodmont Triangle space to sell under-construction luxury condos.

JBG Cos. will open a sales center for its 7770 Norfolk project down the street at the former Design Within Reach store, according to the building’s landlord, Bethesda-based Greenhill Capital.

Design Within Reach, a furniture retailer, closed at the 4828 St. Elmo Ave. space in January and moved to Georgetown.

JBG expects construction on 7770 Norfolk to be completed this fall. The developer originally planned for the 17-story building to be rental apartments, but switched the units earlier this year to condominiums ranging from 450 to 1,900 square feet and $300,000 to $1.4 million.

A spokesperson for the developer said it hopes to open the sales center in September.
