Weekend Weather: According to the National Weather Service, it is going to be a pretty mild Independence Day weekend. Friday's high is expected to be around 77 degrees with a chance of showers and thunderstorms scattered throughout the day. The chance of thunderstorms will continue into Saturday, but it looks like it is going to clear up for fireworks in the evening, according to the weather service. The high on Saturday is 81. Sunday looks mostly clear with a high of 84.

 

Steve Lauri — 8 p.m. Friday —Villain and Saint, 7141 Wisconsin Ave

Steve Lauri, a guitar player and vocalist for the rock band the Hollies, is coming to Villain and Saint this weekend. The show is for those 21 and over, and tickets cost $18.

 

Fireworks— Saturday night— Multiple Montgomery County Locations

Autism Speaks 5K—6:30-9:30 a.m. Saturday—Potomac Library Parking Lot, 10101 Glenolden Drive

Get your 4th of July started bright and early with some exercise in support of the nation’s largest autism science and advocacy organization. Participants can either do a 1-mile walk or a 5k run. Registration for adults is  $40 online by June 2, or $45 on-site the day of the race. Registration for kids is $20.

 

Kensington Fourth of July Bike Parade—10 a.m. Saturday—St. Paul Park

The 20th annual bike parade is open to anyone who wants to decorate their bike, scooter, wagon or stroller. Members of the Parade will follow a Kensington Volunteer Fire Department truck through the streets of the neighborhood. Those who wish to participate should start lining up at 9:45 a.m.

 

Fourth of Ju-Luau — 8 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday — The Adventure Park at Sandy Spring, 16701 Norwood Road

In addition to their usual ropes courses, zip lines and trails, The Adventure Park at Sandy Spring will be having volleyball, snow cones, face painting and music throughout the day.  Prices for the adventure park vary based on age and course.

 

No BS! Brass Band — 7 p.m. Saturday — BlackRock Center for the Arts, 12901 Town Commons Drive

The No BS! Brass Band combines elements of James Brown, John Coltranne, Michael Jackson and Led Zeppelin to create an East Coast modern funk sound.  This free concert is being held on the BlackRock front lawn, weather permitting.
