Police confirm body found Sunday is not missing Reston man

Montgomery County police spokesman Rick Goodale said Thursday that investigators have not yet been able to identify the body of a man pulled from the Potomac River Sunday afternoon near the Carderock Recreation Area.

Goodale said they’re currently waiting for autopsy reports to come back to determine how the man, a Hispanic male in his 20s or 30s, died. They’re also searching filed missing persons reports to try to identify him. Goodale said police have confirmed the body is not that of Marco Reyes-Sanchez, a 21-year-old Reston man who disappeared while swimming in the river near Great Falls with friends on June 2.
