Updated Monday — A water main break Friday on a street in East Bethesda flooded the road and almost capsized a truck.

A large hole opened along Sleaford Road, behind Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School, trapping a truck and leaving its back wheels suspended in the air.

A spokesperson for the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission said the break in the 10-inch water main was reported shortly before 4 p.m. The main was 74-years-old.

A reader sent the photos below of the truck and the water rushing down the street.
