Strathmore announced 49 shows for the 2015-2016 season this week, with performances scheduled for acts ranging from big name musical acts to international dance troops.
Some of the big names coming to Strathmore include 2010 runner up of America’s Got Talent, Jackie Evancho, pop-singer Paul Anka, singer-pianist Michael Feinstein, and Grammy-winning Natalie Cole. Arlo Guthrie will also be performing in celebration of the 50th anniversary of his hit song Alice’s Restaurant on February 3.
Classical music aficionados will have a lot to choose from. Strathmore is welcoming performances by musicians such as pianist Maurizio Pollini, cellist Nicholas Altstaedt, and classical saxophonist Ashu. In addition to these solo artists, there are many ensembles, including the Atlantic String Quartet, Ensemble Schumann and Dan Tepfer with the International Contemporary Ensemble.
Jazz performers scheduled play the upcoming season include Wynton Marsalis, Chucho Valdes, Denzal Sinclaire, Patti Austin and Gerald Clayton, and folk performances by The Moon and the Seven Stars and Shenandoah Run, among others.
The schedule kicks off with the Peter and Will Anderson Trio on September 17, and finishes off with the Todd Marcus Quintet on May 19, with more shows being announced in September. Tickets are now on sale to the general public. Dates for some of the shows are listed below, and a full schedule can be found here.
