The Front Row Fashion Show – Events on Friday and Saturday – Bethesda Row
Bethesda Lane will morph into a fashion runway Friday night as part of The Front Row, the annual clothing showcase that takes place on Bethesda Row. The fashion show starts at 7:30 p.m. Regular tickets are sold out, but VIP tickets for $49 each are still available. On Saturday, Bethesda Row retailers will be offering sales, fitness classes and culinary events.
Washington Folk Festival – noon to 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday – Glen Echo Park, 7300 MacArthur Blvd.
The Folklore Society of Greater Washington will showcase a variety of different cultures through music, food, dancing and storytelling at the Washington Folk Festival. The free festival features seven stages where musical acts ranging from gospel singers to fiddle players will show off their talents. Craftsmen will display and sell wares such as inlaid dulcimers and silver pendants. Click here for a full schedule of events.
National Philharmonic: Brahms and Faure – 8 p.m. Saturday – The Music Center at Strathmore
The National Philharmonic will play Brahms’ the Serenade No. 2 and Faure’s Requiem at the music center in North Bethesda. The concert begins at 8 p.m. and tickets range from $28 to $84.
The Hit Men – 7:30 p.m. Sunday – Bethesda Blues and Jazz Supper Club
Are you a fan of Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons? Then The Hit Men could be for you. The band will play the Four Seasons’ hits as well as songs by Carly Simon, Cat Stevens and Elton John. Tickets for the show are $40.
Cravin’ Dogs – 7:30 p.m. Saturday – AMP by Strathmore, 11810 Grand Park Ave., North Bethesda
Cravin’ Dogs, a five-person “gonzo-folk” band composed of Todd Baker, Barry Warsaw, John Penovich, Tom Helf and Cladwell Gray will play their blend of folk, rock, roots, new wave and bluegrass at the North Bethesda music venue. Tickets to show are $20 to $25.
Park Potomac Spring Festival – noon to 3 p.m., Saturday – 12505 Park Potomac Ave., Potomac
Park Potomac is hosting a kid-friendly spring festival Saturday afternoon. The festival includes wine and beer for the adults, food, live music and children's activities like face painting, balloon animals, and a petting zoo. The Rockville Fire Department will be on hand with their equipment for children to explore.
