Car Crashes into Tree in Chevy Chase

Incident happened in front of Somerset House near Friendship Heights

A vehicle crashed into a tree in front of the Somerset House Condominium complex Thursday afternoon in Chevy Chase.

The vehicle's driver's side airbag was fully deployed and the car came close to striking the front lobby entrance of the building.

The incident happened shortly before 4 p.m.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson Pete Piringer said the driver of the vehicle suffered non life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for evaluation.
